The GETAWAY is exactly as it sounds. It's my home away from home that I rent out when I'm not enjoying it myself. Located approx 2 hours and fifteen minutes from Toronto, the cottage is the perfect place to get away, relax and escape the city. The Getaway has four bedrooms, one and a half baths, a wrap around deck with a screened-in porch and beautiful western exposure to enjoy the sunsets. You can go for a hike, take a swim or simply relax and work on your tan on the dock. Green's Lake is surrounded by 80% crown land, meaning great fishing and lots of nature trails to explore. Our goal is to make your stay as comfortable as possible. At The Getaway, you can relax and unwind, while also enjoying some of the amenities you have at home. The master bedroom has a walk in closet with shared access to a full bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, stove, dishes, pots and pans and cutlery so you can cook up a storm inside or BBQ on the deck. Internet, Satellite TV, and laundry are also included to make life a little easier. A nearby boat launch is available on Greens Lake or you can launch your boat at a number of different lakes nearby if you want to explore the area.
WHAT it is The Getaway is a beautiful, quiet place to relax with your family and friends. It's a place to enjoy nature, the sun, swimming and being outside. WHAT it's not The Getaway is not a place to have a huge, loud party ;) I like to have fun as much as the next guy, and expect to have a few drinks on the dock, but the cottage is my second home. Dealing with drama, noise complaints and damages is never fun for anyone. We usually rent to families and groups of mature adults - and look for groups who will have fun and take advantage of all the cottage has to offer but respect the place by treating it like their own. FAQ's

What should I bring? Please bring your own linens, towels and pillowcases. Food - Please bring whatever food you plan on enjoying during your stay. Be sure to take what you don't use with you. Paper Towel, Toilet Paper - We will provide some to get you started but please plan on brining what you need for the duration of your stay. Big Jug of Water for Water Cooler - Cottage water comes from the well which is safe for drinking 95% of the time. To be on the safe side I recommend using the kitchen water cooler for drinking and cooking purposes. One big jug of water will be provided for your stay. If you run out you can buy more at Catchacoma Marina down the road. You can also boil the water as another option to be extra safe. Bug Spray - Bugs vary depending on the time of year. You can always retreat to the screened-in porch if they get to be too much. Sunscreen for optimal dock time. A sense of adventure. A good book for lazy afternoons. Can we swim? Of course! The lake is pretty shallow - only about 6 feet deep - off the end of the dock. There are some weeds but it is not really weedy. We have cleared around the dock and laid down some mats so you are comfortable walking in and around the dock. If you go out into the main part of the lake, it gets much deeper - around 30ft. I swim up there all the time and my niece and nephews are always in and out of the water from the beach. I've rented the cottage for over five years now, and I've never had any complaints about swimming - rest assured its great. Please don't dive off the dock - if you do make sure it's a real shallow dive ;)
